Voice Acting Analysis: Steins;Gate (Part II - Makise Kurisu)

Hello everyone,
As the second target of my four part series on Steins;Gate, it is the turn of Makise Kurisu to come under the spotlight. She is voiced by Asami Imai, who is also quite well known for her role as Noire in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise. However, I wasn't really a fan of her in that role; she sounded quite amateurish in her more energetic moments, and didn't convey the more emotional side well either. When I could tell that it was her from her first line of dialogue, I didn't really have much hope. So how does she fare in this role? (spoiler: much better)

Rewrite Season 2 - Episode 2

Hello everyone,
I never thought I'd say this, but... it turns out 8-bit do have the ability to create incredible scenes after all. This was probably my favourite episode of the whole series so far. While there were some things I couldn't figure out whether I liked them or not, the vast majority of the episode was done excellently, bringing back many feelings from the VN and perhaps even perhaps improving upon certain aspects of the story (not even joking).

12 Days of Christmas #11 - Dubbed Voice Acting

Hello everyone,
Usually, I talk only about the voice acting in the Japanese version of anime. So I figured that I should make a post about the voice acting in some English dubs of shows. While I haven't seen that many, I do have a selection of performances and voice actors/actresses that I would like to talk about.

Winter Season 2017

Hello everyone,
'tis time!
I'll be using neregate's chart as the source throughout, so let me know if I missed any shows that you think I should consider. There will be a few I deliberately skip over because they're either sequels, or the PV image looks like it could have been drawn by a child... (I only watch anime with generic art styles lol). I'm also checking all the MAL entries to see which seiyuu are in each show, because I do tend to pick up some shows just for their seiyuu.

12 Days Of Christmas #12 - Christmas

Hello everyone,
Since my Christmas had a couple of Japan related things in it, I guess I'll talk about that?

First - gifts. I got Blood-C!! My parents aren't very anime savvy, so I ended up with a show that I don't think will be very good technically. But hell, I'm sure I'll love it from the clips I've seen on youtube - I love me some over the top gore. I'm going to pick up the Bakemonogatari novels and a PSVita with my Christmas money as well, so overall it's pretty good.

Second - I spent a part of my Christmas day reading Kizumonogatari. I've had this novel almost since it came out, but only just got round to reading it now. Why I didn't read it sooner is a mystery to me, since even back then I loved Monogatari. Maybe I could sense that I'd want to read it even more in the future or something, so saved it for then? No idea. Anyway, it was excellent (of course), but there were a few huge translation issues. None of these could get in the way of NisiOisiN's incredible writing, of course, but it was still annoying to have to decipher sentences rather than read them at times. Do Vertical have a proof-reader? (if not, I'm looking for a job... *wink wink*)

Third - I totally didn't spend Christmas Eve reading (or trying to read) the tweets of seiyuu...  but it was worth every minute as I got to see Inoue Marina and Kitamura Eri have a short twitter "conversation". Woo! But jokes aside, it was nice as I realised that seiyuu are people too Shimazaki Nobunaga plays Fate/Grand Order instead of sleeping...

Finally - my parents listened to me talking about weeb stuff for once! Success. They're back to ignoring me today though, but still...

So yeah, I hope everyone has enjoyed the event. I apologise for the lack of substantial posts. I set out with such ambitious goals, but I didn't have the time in the end to dedicate to doing a full analysis every two days and one of the ones I picked was way too difficult, but that post will be out eventually... *tries to hide the fact that there is no #11*
Merry Christmas!

12 Days of Christmas #10 - Top 10 Anime of 2016

Hi everyone,
This was meant to be my Christmas post, but circumstances dictated that I rearrange the order a little to get the easier post out of the way at a busier time So, here is a list of my favourite anime series from 2016!

12 Days of Christmas #9 - Magical Girl Slaughtering Project

Hello everyone,
Today, I figured I'd talk about the other Mahou Shoujo show that I finished this week, and that is Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku. Unlike Soushin Shoujo Matoi, I don't have a list of positive things to say about it since it was an edgy mess with almost no character development, but it did have the occasional great scene. Usually one involving the brutal death of a character. Since I'm going to speak about three of these below, this post will contain major spoilers.

12 Days of Christmas #8 - Why I don't want to talk about Monogatari

Hello everyone,
This week, I finally got round to catching up with the Monogatari anime series, and... well, it was phenomenal. I'd seen up to almost the end of Second Season last year, but then put it to one side since I didn't want it to be over - Monogatari might just be my favourite anime. You may have noticed that in my voice acting posts, if a seiyuu has been in Monogatari, that is all I feel I need to say to try to assure people of my opinion in regards to their ability to give a good performance. However, I don't want to do an analysis on the voice acting in Monogatari in the near future.

12 Days Of Christmas #7 - Soushin Shoujo Matoi

Hello everyone,
Today, I'd like to talk about Soushin Shoujo Matoi, but I seem to be the only person who does. I know a lot of different groups of anime fans, but for some reason, none of them watched this fully. So I figured I'd talk about a few things in the show in some sort of attempt to get people to join me with it (or something).
